Cremation
with a Memorial Service.
Cremation and a personalized memorial service. The cremation usually takes place
before the service. The cremated remains may be placed in an Urn and displayed
at the memorial service with pictures and mementos of your loved one.
Funeral
with Cremation.
The deceased person is prepared, placed in a casket. Often, the deceased person
is viewed and memorialized with a funeral service. The cremation takes place
after the service instead of going to the cemetery. This is the most popular
type of cremation arrangement.
You
decide.
Cremation allows you to be flexible with the arrangements you choose. It's important,
just as with any funeral arrangements, that you are involved in creating a service
that is meaningful and appropriate.
Most people bury the remains in a cemetery plot. Scattering the remains at
sea, in the air, or at a favorite place of the deceased, is becoming increasingly
popular. There are regulations governing scattering of remains over the
ocean or inland waterways. There is jewelry available that contains some
of the remains, allowing you to keep a portion of your loved one close at
all times.

Cremation is becoming more popular as a means of disposition. The reasons for
selecting cremation vary widely, but cremation is usually selected because people
are interested in saving money on funeral costs.
