Personal information
John was raised in the Bachman Funeral Home.

"I remember helping Dad with funeral work as soon as I was big enough to stack chairs and vacuum the carpet!"

He worked outside the funeral industry before settling into the family business in his 30's.

John and his wife, Crystal (Evans), have four sons and two daughters.

Hobbies and Interests
John was mechanic and steam locomotive engineer on the Strasburg Rail Road for over 16 years.

His hobbies are photography, computer systems, antique and classic automobiles, muscle cars and "working on anything mechanical or electrical."

He and Crystal are remodeling their 1790's home in Strasburg.

 

Here you see John meeting with a family. Behind them is a family heirloom tall-case clock. The clock case was made by Jacob Bachman in the late 1700's. The movement was built by Thomas Burrows of Strasburg.
